Rio Grande River

Rio Grande River

April 24, 2016

Here, in the Big Bend of west Texas, the Rio Grande (Rio Bravo to the Mexicans) is a lazy, shallow river serving as the border between Mexico and the US. The small amount of water flowing at this end of the great river (that originates in south-central Colorado and flows into the Gulf of Mexico) belies the river’s significance. Boaters claim that if one falls overboard, they get up and dust themselves off.
