Bangor Wine & Oyster Shed

Bangor Wine & Oyster Shed

November 26, 2017

Driving out to the Port Arthur peninsula we stopped in Bangor for lunch. The Bangor winery is small and critically a top of class. It is the most southern wine vineyard in the world (42 degrees, 53 minutes south) - located where Abel Tasman and his crew landed in 1642. For lunch I had a most excellent methode champenoise sparkling (they produce only 165 cases per year). Sharon had a lovely Pinot Gris with her fresh oysters. If you don’t drink/buy it at the winery’s cellar door – you would never know it exists.
